Welcome to the CT Sunlight Project!  This tool was constructed by the Yankee Institute for Public Policy to give the citizens of Connecticut the ability to analyze every line item of state and local government spending. 

The goal of the project is to empower citizens with knowledge about how their tax dollars are being spent and to facilitate the creation of new ideas for better government at a lower cost. 

The data was collected via Freedom of Information Act requests to the State of Connecticut and municipalities throughout the state.  The relevant year is noted with each item.
